It was formerly introduced in the year 1995 as concept car at Frankfurt Auto Show, and the design is credited to Freeman Thomas and J Mays with Romulus Rost, Hartmut Warkuss, Martin Smith and Peter Schreyer contributing to award winning cabin design.

The heated seats and navigation are also available as optional features on Premium Plus variant. Other options include leather upholstery with baseball glove style stitching, adaptive suspension dampers and different wheel. The S line package comes with distinctive exterior trim and elements, 19 inch wheels, sport steering wheel, special upholstery and headlight washers. The iPod interface can be substituted in place of six-CD changer.

Engines and their Performance

The 2012 Audi TT is propelled by a four-cylinder 2.0 liter turbocharged engine, which is good for pumping out 258 pound feet of torque and 211 horsepower. The engine is mated with automated manual dual clutch six-speed transmission with four-wheel drive system designed to send power to all the four wheels.

This particular transmission works like conventional automatic or allows manual operation through shift lever at the center console or paddle shifters on steering column. In performance testing, it accelerated from 0 to 60 miles per hour in the time range of 7.2 seconds and offered the fuel economy of 31 mpg highway, 23 mpg city and 26 mpg in combined driving.
